February Shoot

Earlier this month I had the amazing opportunity to reunite with one of the very first photographers who ever shot my work: the very talented Brendan Boden!

The first time we worked alongside one another, we were both attending the same college and a classmate recommended him for portfolio work. We stylized a photography shoot for my entire collection of designs that I had made while in school for my senior portfolio. He tirelessly worked with me to capture the essence of my individual unique garments back then on an all day shoot, so I was super excited to have him casually shoot a couple of my latest designs from my newest spring collection now!

I had found this gorgeous model, Caroline Gallegos, who completely embodied the 50s look that I just absolutely adore. (If you haven't noticed already, many of my garments are inspired by 50s fashion.)

Originally, I had wanted to find a model to feature only the Quilted Emerald ensemble, but for Caroline I just had to add one of the more 50s inspired looks too.

So we all met up one evening, Brendan set up a space in his home, and we shot the Emerald Quilted Pant paired with the Emerald Button-Up Back Quilted Top, as well as the PNW Green Skirt and Black Sheer Block Crop Top. Accessorized of course with the matching Black Hair Bow and Black Sash Belt!

I gotta say both Caroline and Brendan delivered! We got some stunning photos that really showcased my garments, so I was very pleased. I always love being able to see my clothes on different people. As a designer, once you sell an item and it ships out, you unfortunately don't always get to see how it looks on the buyer, which to me personally is one of the greatest joys of designing. Needless to say anytime I see my clothes worn in person, whether it is just to try on, model for a photoshoot or to actually buy, there is always an instant surge of joy, especially when the garment fits exactly as I envisioned. I totally had that feeling with Caroline, because the clothing fit her like a dream, as if I had designed the pieces for her personally.

As a bonus, not only did Caroline rock the outfits, but she was also our make-up and hair stylist, completing her look to compliment my garments. It is rare when you find such an all around talented model and I couldn’t have lucked out with a better duo for this impromptu photoshoot!

You can check out the rest of the favorites from the photoshoot here in the gallery, or check out both Brendan and Caroline's individual work!
